Scythian Queen from Tovsta Mogyla Kurgan: Headdress

0

As mentioned earlier, a Scythian woman and a child were buried in the side vault of the Tovsta Mogyla Kurgan. In the same chamber with them, there were also the sceletons of a bodyguard and a cook. At the entrance to the vault, there were the remains of the wheels from the funeral cart and a skeleton of a groom. In a separate small adjacent chamber, there was a skeleton of a servant girl. The headdress of the queen together with the pendants are represented in the title image of the article. Below are the scheme of the burial and the illustrations of the images on the headdress plates.
