Feb. 14, 2025. Singapore Minister for Defence Dr. Ng Eng Hen presented his speech “On The Horns Of A Trilemma: Geopolitical Recession, Technological Leadership And Energy Security”. In it, there was the following conclusion:
“… For Asia, the US in the last 60 years since President John F. Kennedy’s inaugural speech – that one form of tyranny (colonial control) will not be replaced by an iron tyranny, that was the moral legitimacy in which US presence was in our region. The US has now willy-nilly – the image has changed from liberator to great disruptor to a landlord seeking rent.”
