The actress calls herself “a humble Ukrainian girl”.
Milla’s words on her Facebook January 30, 2014, during Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity, meant a lot to many people:
“I sit watching the news and my heart hurts so badly when I see my incredible, Ukrainian brothers and sisters suffering for what they believe. I pray so much that a peaceful solution will be found. Ukraine, I BELIEVE IN YOU!”

The following day after the Russia’s Invasion into Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2024, in a post on Instagram, the model and actor called on her followers to donate to various charities providing aid for people in Ukraine.

She also recited a verse in support of Ukraine:
